Mr. Daniel Melvin Abner, 60 passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at Noon Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church, officiating will be Rev. Kelly Bullard.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 11:45am Thursday before the service at the church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Abner, Sr. and Eunice Abner; and sisters, Janice Powell and Barbara Walker.

Daniel was a former Cumberland County deputy, park ranger, city of Fayetteville police officer and a Head End Tech with Time Warner Cable Company. He loved cars, motorcycles, the beach, his dog, Duke, but most of all he dearly loved all of his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Abner; daughter, Danielle "Boo Boo Marie" Jenkins, married to Joe Jenkins, grandchildren, Trey Jenkins, Daniel Jenkins & Hailey Jenkins; daughter, Rae Abner Moss "Raggamuffin", married to Jimmie Moss, grandchildren, Skylar Gatten, Regan Gatten and Gavin Moss; brothers, Robert Abner, Jr. & wife, Cindy and Ronnie Abner & wife, Sharon; and sisters, Patty Parker & husband, Frankie and Lila Maxwell & husband, Mac. He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in his memory to Myrover Reese for addiction recovery, 613 Quality Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306.
