ROSEBORO
Dale Corriher Johnson, who lived a life of love and generosity, died December 6, 2016. He was 57.
Dale was the son of loving parents, the late Ralph Devane and Edna Dail Johnson, and lived his entire life at the family home outside of Roseboro. After graduation from Lakewood High School, he earned a bachelor of business administration from Campbell University. He graduated summa cum laude in 1981.
His early career was in design, owning a retail gift and interiors shop in Clinton. But Dale’s passion for people and education eventually took him to Sampson Community College where he served as an instructor in the Continuing Education Division’s Academy of Continuing Excellence.
Dale had a significant and lasting influence not only on the lives of his students, but countless others he met during his journey on earth. He will be long remembered for his kindness, compassion, patience, quick wit and loving nature. Never meeting a stranger, Dale always shared an uplifting word to anyone who crossed his path and never wanted anyone to feel excluded.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Von and Deborah Johnson, and his niece and nephew, Kristen Johnson Zeff and Daniel Johnson, and many dear cousins. While his birth family is not large in number, his larger family of loved ones is extensive including his Mintz family, his SCC family, and many others.
Services will be held Saturday, December 10 at Mintz Baptist Church, 3761 Old Mintz Highway, Roseboro, where he was a faithful and lifelong member. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall with the Funeral at 3:00 pm in the Sanctuary followed by Interment in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mintz Baptist Church, 3761 Old Mintz Highway, Roseboro, NC 28382.
Services are by Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
