Mrs. Cordie Mae Brown, 90

WADE Mrs. Cordie Mae Brown, 90 of 4344 S. River School Road, Wade, died on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at her home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. David Cannady and Rev. Joe Ammons officiating. Burial will follow at the Adcox Cemetery in Hope Mills. Mrs. Brown was born on September 21, 1921 in Cumberland County to the late Joe E. and Malissia Lula Riley Starling. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Norman Starling; her second husband, James E. Brown; three sons, M.G. Starling, Norman T. Starling and Thomas Starling; and one daughter, Esther Starling. She worked as a Crossing Guard with the Public School System. She is survived by: two sons, John T. "J.T." Starling and James R. Starling both of Wade; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman and other times at the home of her son, 3113 Royal Williams Road, Wade.
