Mrs. Cora Mildred Sessoms Essey, 97

FAYETTEVILLE

Mrs. Cora Mildred Sessoms Essey, 97 of Fayetteville and formerly of Roseboro, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 4 at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, with Reverend Scot McCosh officiating. Interment will follow at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Roseboro.

She was born June 1, 1918 in Sampson County and retired as a Teacher from Sampson Community College. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Wade and Emma Johnson Sessoms; husband, Eugene Kinsmon Essey; brothers, Walton Sessoms, Earl Sessoms; and sisters, Elizabeth Coats, Margaret Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanne E. Agaliotis of Fayetteville; sons, Henry Essey and wife Sandra of Chapel Hill, Alan Essey and wife Kaye of Campobello, SC; brother, Minson Sessoms of Clinton; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, December 3 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
