Connie Arlene Couri

On September 10, 2025, the world lost a bright light when Connie Arlene Couri of Autryville, NC passed away at the age of 57. We celebrate the joy, love and laughter Connie shared with all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 15, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Rev. Louis Pender.

Connie was born in Würzburg Germany to the late Carlos R, Melendez and Blanca M. Melendez. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Carlos R Melendez, Jr.

Connie had a long career within the US Army that spanned over 39 plus years. Connie was selected and graduated from the prestige US Army War College in 2004 and she has been acknowledged as the Army’s expert in the Training Support Program. She handled facilities, services and training devices for all FORSCOM units in the continental United States. Her expertise often led to consultative requests by the Dept of Army and overseas commands. Connie received multiple Civilian Achievement Medal awards, Civilian Accommodation Medal awards, Civilian Meritorious Service Medal awards among numerous other awards.

Outside of work Connie loved cooking, decorating and spending time with her family. Connie will be truly missed by her family, close friends and all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Saliba Couri; daughter, Ashley Blake of Fayetteville; granddaughter, Karissa Dalrymple; sisters, Myra Lizardi of TN and Brenda Walker of FL; and a brother, Ricky Melendez of GA. Nieces, Christina Wilson of FL, Jasmine Melendez of GA and nephew Donovan Melendez of GA. In addition to those mentioned Connie is survived by countless family members and friends whose lives she touched deeply.
