STEDMAN Mr. Colon Junior Hewitt, 82 of 971 Magnolia Church Road, Stedman, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at The Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at LaFayette Memorial Park with Dr. Phil Spears officiating. Mr. Hewitt was born on March 20, 1930 in Cumberland County to the late Melvin "Mood" and Bertie Nunnery Hewitt. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Bertie Mae Hewitt. He retired from Burlington Industries. He is survived by: his wife of 44 years, Doris Parker Hewitt of the home; one daughter, Sylvia Underwood and husband, Milton of Newton Grove; and two sons, Larry Hewitt and wife, Marsha of Fayetteville and Douglas Hewitt and wife, Sue of Locust Grove, VA; one sister, Edna Elmore of Fayetteville; his special friend, Marlon Whitehurst of Stedman; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and his two dogs, Peanut and Ginger. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman and other times at the home. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at LaFayette Memorial Park with Dr. Phil Spears officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman and other times at the home. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman.
