STEDMAN
Mr. Colon Junior Hewitt, 82 of 971 Magnolia Church Road, Stedman, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at The Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at LaFayette Memorial Park with Dr. Phil Spears officiating.
Mr. Hewitt was born on March 20, 1930 in Cumberland County to the late Melvin "Mood" and Bertie Nunnery Hewitt. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Bertie Mae Hewitt. He retired from Burlington Industries.
He is survived by: his wife of 44 years, Doris Parker Hewitt of the home; one daughter, Sylvia Underwood and husband, Milton of Newton Grove; and two sons, Larry Hewitt and wife, Marsha of Fayetteville and Douglas Hewitt and wife, Sue of Locust Grove, VA; one sister, Edna Elmore of Fayetteville; his special friend, Marlon Whitehurst of Stedman; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and his two dogs, Peanut and Ginger.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman and other times at the home.
