Mr. Cleveland Devond Tew

Roseboro Mr. Cleveland Devond Tew, 80, of 271 Devond Tew Road, passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at Sampson Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Pleasant Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Mr. Tew was a native of Sampson County and was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Annie Naylor Tew and his son, Harvey Thornton, Jr. He was a farmer. Mr. Tew is survived by: wife, Henrietta C. Tew, of the home; sons, Steve Tew and Bobby Thornton, both of Roseboro; sister, Lois Tew Williamson, of Clinton; brother, Theldon Tew, of Clinton; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
