Mrs. Clarice Faye Matthews, 85 of Roseboro went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Mintz Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Hunter and Dr. John McBride officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM at Mintz Baptist Church prior to the service and at other times at the home of Eddie and Shannon Matthews, 6768 Fleet Cooper Road, Roseboro, NC.

Mrs. Matthews was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Dewitt Frost and Clyda Holland Simmons.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jerry Matthews.  She was a retired nurse.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Craig Matthews and wife, Pam of Roseboro and Eddie Matthews and wife, Shannon of Roseboro; four grandchildren, Alex Matthews and wife, Parrish of Dunn, Christopher Matthews, Caroline Matthews and Daniel Matthews all of Roseboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mintz Baptist Church, 3761 Old Mintz Hwy, Roseboro, NC 28382.
