Mr. Clarence Irvin "Corkey" Anderson, 86 of 2980 Huntley School Road, Roseboro, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Southwood Nursing & Retirement Center in Clinton.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Gore, Rev. Ivan Byrd and Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.
Mr. Anderson was born on July 10, 1925 in Lynchburg, Virginia, to the late Julian James and Susan Cooper Foushee Anderson. He was a faithful member of Freedom Baptist Church where he served as Brotherhood Director for numerous years. He worked as a concession stand operator with the Bureau of Employment for the Blind.
He is survived by: his brother, Julian James Anderson, Jr. of Rustburg, Virginia; special friend, Emma Faye Tew and husband, Ellis of Salemburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at Freedom Baptist Church, 2099 Tyndall Bridge Road, Salemburg.
