Mrs. Christine W. Overton, 91

AUTRYVILLE Mrs. Christine W. Overton died in her home on Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born in Sampson County on March 25, 1922, the daughter of the late Perdie and Oma Lissie Betts Williams. Christine lived most of her life in Sampson County and was a member of Clement Baptist Church. She retired after many years as a Salesperson with Sears in Fayetteville, where she had many friends and acquaintances as well as in the community in which she lived. She always had a loving compassion and a smile for everyone. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Overton and three brothers, J. Floyd Williams, Isadora Williams and Shearl Williams. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Clement Baptist Church, Autryville, NC. The Funeral Service with Dr. James E. Dees, Jr. officiating will be at the church at 3:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Maxwell Cemetery. She is survived by a daughter, Pat Laws and her husband, Dr. James Laws of Germantown, Ohio; two grandsons, Jason Laws and Marcus Laws and wife, Leslie and one great grandson, Wesley Laws; one sister, Bernice Fitzgerald of Autryville and also several nieces and nephews. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman, NC. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Clement Baptist Church, Autryville, NC. The Funeral Service with Dr. James E. Dees, Jr. officiating will be at the church at 3:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Maxwell Cemetery.
