Mrs. Cheryl Ann (Barnhouse) Fritz, 79 passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cheryl was born in Rhode Island to the late Nelson and Lucile Barnhouse. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Fritz; son, Steven “Rusty” Russell Salisbury, Jr.; and her brother, Michael Barnhouse.

She had a deep passion for lighthouses. She was known for her fierce, stubborn spirit, she stood strong in what she believed in and loved her family with that same unwavering devotion. Above all, her heart belonged to her savior, whose grace guided her through every step of her life.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Joseph Salisbury & wife, Anna and Jason Salisbury & wife, Heather; grandchildren, Alesha Frye & husband, Mark, William Salisbury, and Ashley Williams; great grandchild, Konnor Salisbury; her brother, David Barnhouse; and her furbabies, Pippin and Snow.
