Mrs. Charlotte Windham Crayton, 66

HARRELLS Mrs. Charlotte Windham Crayton, 66 of 80 Baytree Drive, died on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at her home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 4:30 P.M. at Cokesbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Nelson and Rev. Denny Wise officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Crayton was born on December 18, 1944 in Alamance County and is preceded in death by her father, Robert H. Windham, Sr. Charlotte had been an active member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church of Stedman, NC, since 1972 being involved with the youth, a Sunday School Teacher and Thrift Shop worker. She had been a School Teacher since 1968 in Camp Lejune, Greenville City Schools, Bladen County Schools and then Cumberland County Schools since 1972. Charlotte was a part of the Armstrong and Mac Williams families for 35 years. She is survived by: her husband, James Edward Crayton, Jr. of Baytree Lakes; one daughter, Jamie Crayton Scruggins and husband, Drew and son, Caleb of Dunn; one son, James Edward Crayton, III and son, Elijah of Smithfield; her mother, Margaret Windham of Burlington; one brother, Robert Windham, Jr. of Burlington; and one sister, Nancy G. Pedersen of Denmark. In lieu of fresh flowers, the family requests live outdoor potted plants for a memorial garden; or that donations are sent to Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 7536 Clinton Road, Stedman, NC 28391; or to Mac Williams Middle School, 4644 Clinton Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312.
