Mr. Charlie Robert Fisher, 81, of 51 Barber Cooper Lane, went home to be with Our Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington with his family at his side.

He was a member and a former deacon of Roseboro Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.

Mr. Fisher was born in Cumberland County on September 10, 1941, to the late Ronnie Robert Fisher and Clara Bell Davis Fisher of Beaver Dam.

He had a passion for fishing and racing, which are passions he shared with his children. He was a member of Cumberland County Bass Club for 25 years.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, October 3, at Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Ray Jernigan officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 2 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow later at the Charlie Robert Fisher Family Cemetery.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Shirley Gore Fisher of the home; his two children, whom he loved with all his heart, Charlie Ray Fisher (Kathy), and Joannie Marie Tew (Ryan), all of Roseboro, N.C.; sisters, Doris Jackson of Jacksonville and Elsie Ennis of Erwin; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Jamie, Jeremy, Jessica, Donovan, Enola, Cash, Isaiah, Colt, EmmaGrace, Henry Grey, Lucas, and Levi. As well as countless nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his son, James Robert Fisher, his brother James Carson Fisher, and sisters Lonnie Fisher Hales, Allean Tanner, Nellie Fisher Bass, Clara Fisher Nichols, and Minnie Pearl Honeycutt.
