Mr. Charlie Raymond Fisher, 55, of 5120 Autryville Road, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville where for weeks he was continually surrounded by family, friends and the caring staff at the center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Church of God of Prophecy in Autryville with Bishop Warren Barfield officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.
He was a Sampson County native, the son of the late Herman Fisher and Grace Williams Fisher, a US Army veteran and a 31 year employee of Goodyear's "Kelly Springfield" Tire Company in Fayetteville. He was a man who showed much love to his family, friends and neighbors. He truly was a happy man when he was riding his tractor, farming and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Nancy Fisher, and a brother, Aaron Fisher.
He is survived by two daughters, Tracy Fisher of Salemburg and Carrie Fisher of Autryville; three grandsons, Gavin Lee Coffee, Donovan Gage Fisher and Gunner Adair Cox of Salemburg; sister-in-law, Dorcas Autry Fisher, of Autryville; niece, Julie Tippett and her two children of Autryville; two nephews, Daryl Fisher of Autryville and Derek Fisher and wife Rhonda and their two children of Raleigh; his fiancé, Barbara Ringler of Autryville and her children and his adopted daughters, Tricia Peterson and husband Scott of Fayetteville, Tracy McDaniel and husband Mike of Bladenboro, Ruth Ann Ray and husband Sgt. Major Randy Ray of Hinesville, Georgia; seven adopted grandchildren, Richard Peterson, Katie Peterson, Katie McDaniel, Michael McDaniel, T.J. McDaniel, Ashley Ray and Jason Ray.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and at other times at the former home of his parents at 5124 Autryville Road, Autryville.
