ROSEBORO
Mr. Charles Lee Westbrook, 66 of 1853 Horse Pasture Road, Roseboro, went to sleep on Friday night and he awoke in the arms of Jesus.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday at Freedom Baptist Church, 2099 Tyndall Bridge Road, Salemburg, with Reverend Paul Honeycutt and Reverend Donald Keith Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
He was born August 21, 1939 in Sampson County and was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Christine Lee Westbrook; and brother, Joseph Ray Westbrook. He worked as a shipper for Lundy Packing Company for 47 years, was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Donnette J. Westbrook of the home; daughters, Michelle Smith and husband David of Faison, and Melissa Ballance and husband Douglas of Roseboro; grandchildren, Jackson Ballance, Hannah Smith, and Joseph Ballance; sisters, Martha Matthews of Whiteville, and Sarah Harris of Stedman; brothers, Stanley Westbrook of Salemburg, James "Babe" Westbrook of Garland, Robert Earl Westbrook of Hope Mills, and Dennis Westbrook of Roseboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Freedom Baptist Church, and other times at the home.
Arrangements are by Butler Funeral Home of Roseboro.
