Mr. Charles Egbert Tew, 77, of 1510 Hollandtown Road, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 18, 2008 at 2:00 p. m. at Salemburg Baptist Church with the Rev. John Adams, Rev. Andy Wood and Rev. W.O. Reiber officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Tew was a native of Sampson County and was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Betty Wrench Tew, daughter-in-law, Gail Mattocks Tew and a brother, Carlton Tew. He was a farmer before retiring and was a part-time funeral assistant at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
Mr. Tew is survived by: wife, Helen Tew, of the home; daughter, Wanda Holden and husband Fulton, of Salemburg; son, Kendall Tew, of Salemburg; three sisters, Estalene Bass, of Newton Grove, Reavis Tew, of Autryville and Betty Porter, of Roseboro; two grandsons, Kyle Holden and Stephen Holden.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p. m. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
