Mr. Charles Edsel Mcphail, 83

SALEMBURG Mr. Charles Edsel McPhail, 83 of 1718 McPhail Road, Salemburg, died on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Allen West and Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. McPhail was born on November 1, 1928 in Sampson County to the late William Duncan and Dora Liza Tew McPhail. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Cloyde McPhail; and two sisters, Lois Chesnutt and Joyce West. He retired as a security guard from Lundy Packing Company. He is survived by: his wife, Edna Capps McPhail of the home; three children, Brenda M. Horne and husband, Ricky of Salemburg, Leonard McPhail and wife, Vicki of Roseboro and Jewel M. Williams and husband, Gary of Salemburg; five grandchildren, Jeremy Horne, Bryan McPhail, Jason Horne, Brooke Williams and Brandon Williams; and four great grandchildren, Landon Johnson, Parker McPhail, Hunter Horne and Peyton Horne. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at the home. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W.
