Mr. Charles V. Lassiter

FAYETTEVILLE Mr. Charles Verdery Lassiter, 71, of Fayetteville died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital. He was a native of Cumberland County, the son of the late Elbert Bowden and Mary Catherine Currie Lassiter. He was retired from the A&P Grocery Store. Mr. Lassiter was a faithful member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church for 57 years. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church with Dr. Gray V. Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Geraldine W. Lassiter of Fayetteville; a niece, Clara Lassiter Bolton and husband Brian of Fayetteville; a nephew, Robert M. Lassiter, II and wife Alison of Stedman. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Fear Valley Home Health & Hospice, P.O.
