Catherine (Bassett) Sessoms

Mrs. Catherine Bassett Sessoms, 83 of Salemburg went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Salemburg Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. William Tew and Rev. Jordan Faircloth officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.

Mrs. Sessoms was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of the William Morris and Sarah Lillie Brock Bassett.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donnie Ray Sessoms and a step son, David Brock Sessoms.  She retired after 27 years as a dietary assistant with Mary Gran Nursing Center.

She is survived by her husband, Archie M. Sessoms; two sons, Ricky Norman Sessoms and Gary Wayne Sessoms; one daughter, Mary Thompson; two step sons, Ronnie Sessoms (Susie) and Toby Sessoms (Kimberly); one step daughter, Vicky Musgrove (Terry); several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.
