Mrs. Rachel Hales Hall, 88 of Roseboro went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at UNC Rex Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Rev. Joshua Hughes and Rev. Jim Woodruff officiating.  Burial will  follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 2:50 PM at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Hall was a native of Cumberland County, the daughter of Luke Madison and Annie Rue Smith Hales.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie James “Monk” Hall; daughter, Patricia Carol Hall and three brothers, Sammy Hales, Pedro Hales and Eb Hales.  She was a homemaker who loved and cared for her family.

She is survived by two sons, James Ray Hall and wife, Kim of Roseboro and Ricky Hall and wife, Camie of Roseboro; two sisters, Maude Simpson of Roseboro and Dorothy Essey (Allen) of Oak Island; three brothers, Style Hales ( Betty Lou) of Roseboro, Carson Hales (Debbie) of Stedman and Gene Hales (Ramona) of Oak Island; seven grandchildren, Amanda Mason (Michael), Brook Gillis (Richard), Jill Shelton (Nathan), Chris Hall, Nick Hall, Markie Horne and Marlie Horne; three great grandchildren, Jamison Shelton, Raymes Gillis and Carington Matthews.
