Carolyn Rose Dodson, 74, went home to her Lord and Savior peacefully on July 3, 2024, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Piney Green Baptist Church with Reverend Donald Keith Carter and Reverend Andy Wood officiating.  The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:50 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the church prior to the service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lacy and Vada Sinclair, and two brothers, Pete and Johnnie Sinclair.

Carolyn was born and raised in Sampson County where she met and married the love of her life. Together with her husband, William, she loved and raised her three boys until getting her favorite title, Grandma, in 1999. She served many years as a substitute teacher and bus driver for Sampson County Schools along with other retail and service jobs. Her devotion to her Lord was shown in the way she always put her family first, caring for her parents, children, and friends in the community throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, William Dodson; her three sons, Anthony (Christine), James (Joy), and Aaron (Tracey Few); three grandsons, Logan, Will, and Wade; and two granddaughters, Katie and Emily. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Mary Paul Sinclair and Faye Kelly; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who each held a special place in her heart.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carolyn's memory to support the outreach ministry of Piney Green Baptist Church in Salemburg, NC.
