Mrs. Carolyn Smith Hayes, 68 of Salemburg went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2022 at the Sampson Regional Medical Center.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 4 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Rev. Billy Bass officiating.  Burial will follow in the Zoar Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. Hayes was a native of Robeson County, the daughter of the late George Washington and Lizzie Thompson Smith.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Timothy Smith and Stanley Hayes both of Salemburg; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers.
