Carol Lee Sessoms Clearman, 78, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2025, at Duke University Medical Center following complications from a heart procedure.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who gave freely of her love and generosity to welcome her own family and others into her life. She brought a caring spirit, humor, and wit in her approach to life that made others know how much she cared while being fun to talk to and be around. Her care and love for her family will never be forgotten as she lived the example that family love is the greatest wealth to be gained.

We celebrate a joyous heavenly reunion as Carol joined loved ones who preceded her in death, including her husband, James Wade Clearman; son, James Wade Clearman, Jr.; daughter, Anita Clearman Snead; parents, Kermit and Irene Sessoms; and brother, Kenny Sessoms. What a grand reunion that must have been!

Family left to cherish her memory include her daughters Christine Dodson and Rebecca Clearman-Sky; sons-in-law Anthony Dodson, Shon Sky, and Jacob Snead (Julie); and grandchildren Amanda Daughtry (Nick H.), Wade Dodson, Emily Dodson, Clifford Snead, Raine Snead (Nick D.), and Sage Snead, in addition to many loved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church with the Reverend Andy Wood officiating.

A reception will follow in the fellowship hall for family and friends after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you honor Carol by going to dinner with your family and spending extra time cherishing them, helping out a friend in need, or considering a donation to Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church in Clinton. Your prayers are the greatest remembrance.
