Mrs. Carmen Merle Matthews, 69

WADE Mrs. Carmen Merle Matthews, 69 of Wade, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She was born July 22, 1945 in Sampson County to the late Anson Mack Matthews and Merle Oma Page Matthews. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Center Baptist Church in Wade, officiating will be Rev. Joe Buck. Interment will follow at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 12:30pm-1:45pm at the church prior to the service. She is survived by her husband, Payton Matthews of the home; daughter Traci Alphin and husband, Troy of Kelly, NC; son, Nicholas Matthews and wife, Audrey of Wade; 2 granddaughters, Kathryn and Alexis Alphin; and sisters, Sharyn Jackson and husband, Michael of Godwin and Cheryl Tornow and husband, Fred of Monroe. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Rd., Stedman, NC 28391. Funeral Services: 2:00pm Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Center Baptist Church in Wade, interment to follow in Old Bluff Presbyterian Church cemetery. Visitation: Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 12:30pm-1:45pm at the church before the service.
