Byron "Neil" Mcneil Bullard

Byron McNeil Bullard (Neil), age 76, of Fayetteville, NC, died of cancer on January 23rd, 2025 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Born December 30, 1948 in Roseboro, NC, Byron was the oldest son of the late Aaron and Clementine (Horne) Bullard. A 1968 graduate of Stedman High School, his education continued until he was drafted and he served his country honorably.  He was a farmer until he began a career with the U.S. Department of Defense where he worked in Supply at Ft. Bragg, NC, Sacrament Army Depot, CA, and then transferred to the accounting department within Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) in Columbus, Ohio.  He retired the end of 2006 and moved back to NC.  Neil’s hobbies included horses, music and streaming seasons of great shows or movies. Neil’s love for his family, his faith and love of country gave him great joy with his daughter Kelly being the apple of his eye.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine and daughter, Kelly, Mother-in-law Marian Gainey, brother Roy (Mary) Bullard, his niece, Rene Walker, nephew Joe Bullard.

In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by his son, James Kenneth Bullard 1988, brothers, James Kenneth Bullard 1985, Joseph Pittman Bullard 2021 and Harry Street Bullard 2024.

Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 1:00 PM -1:50 PM at Evergreen Baptist Church, Autryville, NC, and funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with Reverend Charles Davis and Reverend Tommy Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
