ROSEBORO
Mr. Butress Jackson, 88 of 2900 Dunn Road, died on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Southwood Nursing and Retirement Center in Clinton.
Funeral services will be on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Jeff Bartlett and Rev. Jesse Blalock officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.
Mr. Jackson was born on October 29, 1921 and was a native of Sampson County. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Lloyd Almond and Gladys Sinclair Jackson; and his daughter, Sylvia Jackson. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, and a Farmer.
Mr. Jackson is survived by: his wife, Mildred Godwin Jackson of the home; four sons, Johnny Jackson and wife, Faye of Greenville, N.C., Bobby W. Jackson and wife, Judy, Dwight B. Jackson and wife, Sue, and Mark Jackson and wife, Jane, all of Roseboro; one sister, Jewel Ann West of Charlotte; one brother, Glenn Jackson of Knightdale; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3645 Dunn Road, Roseboro; and other times at the home.
