Ms. Brenda K. (Morgan) Abernathy, 66 went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Lafayette Memorial Park, officiating will be Rev. John Blackman, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home before the service.  There will be a funeral procession to the cemetery.

Brenda was born in Cumberland County to the late William Henry Morgan and Omega Pope Morgan.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Abernathy; son, Tilton Abernathy; and her siblings, Leonard, Beverly and Judy Morgan.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Henry Abernathy & wife, Roongthiwa of Godwin, and Jeffrey Abernathy & wife, Melanie of Eastover; grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Chelsea, Jessy and Jonathan; great grandchildren, Mayla and Lydia; and her sister, Bonnie Stiff of Fayetteville.
