Boneta Joan (Butler) Knowles

Mrs. Boneta Joan Knowles, 76 of Salemburg went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A funeral service will held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 6, 2023 at Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. John Cuthill and Rev. Bryan Strickland officiating.  Burial will follow in the Calvary Tabernacle Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM at Freedom Baptist Church prior to the service and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Knowles was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of William Needam Butler and Ethel McDonald Naylor.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Delorese Knowles.  She was a retired bank teller with Southern Bank.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Ray Sessoms and wife, Sheila of Clinton and Monte Sessoms and wife, Lynn of Salemburg; five grandchildren, Rollin Sessoms (April), Lauren Tokoly (Addison), Jessica Hamm (Spencer), Hannah Holden (Stephen) and Erynn Bryant (Cameron); eight great grandchildren, Eva and Easton Sessoms, Harlynn and Paxton Tokoly, Abigail and Charlotte Hamm, Mackenzie Holden and Grayson Bryant.

Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
