Bobby Ray Byrd, 71

ROSEBORO

Mr. Bobby Ray Byrd, 71 of Roseboro, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Duke University Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, October 28, at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, with Reverend Larry Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Cemetery.

Born May 31, 1946 in Sampson County, he was the son of the late Strange Vance and Hattie Lee Brock Byrd. He worked as a Welder and operated Byrd's Welding. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the US Army.

He is survived by his sisters, Betty McCullen Britt and husband Mike of Fayetteville, Dora Aman and husband John of Garner; nephews, Scott Aman and wife Tammy of Greer, SC, William L. McCullen of Fayetteville; nieces, Karen Aman and husband Dave Edwards of Charlotte, Debbie McCullen Tyndall of Clinton; and six great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45pm Saturday prior to the service and other times at the home of Debbie Tyndall, 87 Cedar View Lane, Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good News Baptist Church, 707 S. Main Street, Bladenboro, NC 28320.
