Mr. Billy Frank Tanner, 65

SALEMBURG

Mr. Billy Frank Tanner, 65 of Salemburg, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Friday at Salemburg Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Thomas officiating.

He was born on May 17, 1951 in Sampson County and is preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin and Lillian Crowson Tanner; and two brothers, Johnny R. Tanner, and Tommy J. Tanner. He was a devoted husband, son, father, and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Lynn Tanner; son, Daniel Smith of Sneads Ferry; daughters, Tara Tanner Brooks of Fleming Island, FL, and Tonya Vanley of Green Cove Springs, FL; brothers, James Tanner of Salemburg, Richard Tanner of Salemburg, and Jerry Tanner of Glenville; sisters, Shirley Childress of Clinton, Ann McLeod of Sanford, Peggy Tanner of Sanford, and Elaine Larson of Salemburg; four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the support received from friends and Community Hospice.
