Mrs. Betty Lou (Smith) Holland, 88 went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Shawn Berryhill and Reverend Allen West officiating. The burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:50 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Holland was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Vander Brunt and Brilla Lee Williams Smith.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel Robert Holland; and her siblings. Mrs. Holland was a retired school teacher for Clement Elementary School.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Mitchell Holland and wife, Glennis of Fayetteville; and Mark Holland and wife, Michelle of Salemburg; her daughter, Susan McPhail and husband, Steven of Salemburg; six grandchildren, Monica Holland, Chad Holland, Daniel McPhail, Adam McPhail, Dustin Holland and Caitlyn Holland; four great-grandchildren, Tucker Holland, Graylyn Holland, Teagan Holland-Criste and Kinsey Holland; and her brother, Charles Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC.
