Mrs. Betty June Merritt, 82

Mrs. Betty June Merritt, 82 of 939 Andrews Chapel Road, Roseboro, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 28 at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, with Reverend Andy Wood officiating.

Mrs. Merritt was born November 21, 1933 in Lancaster, South Carolina, to the late Henry Christopher and Henriella Brunson Monroe. She was the owner and operator of Merritt's Grill.

She is survived by her husband, Elwood Merritt of the home; daughters, Debbie Pettis and husband Bob of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cheryle Fann and husband Michael of Carolina Beach; son, Elwood "Woody" Merritt, Jr. of Roseboro; grandchildren, Ashley Crumpler, Eric Crumpler and wife Kristen, Heather Waller and husband Dave, Summerlyn Merritt, Courtney Merritt; great grandchildren, Olivia Crumpler, Marissa Crumpler, Conner Dellinger; sisters, Gayle Croom of Currie, Lillian Barbee of Arizona; and brothers, Donald Monroe of Wilmington, Ervin Monroe of Florida.

The family will receive friends 1:00 to 1:45 pm Monday, December 28 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
