Mrs. Betty Ruth Mcdonald Mcduffie, 84

FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Betty McDonald McDuffie, 84, of Fayetteville passed away at her home Sunday, September 15, 2013. She was born in Cumberland County on October 2, 1928, the daughter of the late Eppie McDonald and Minnie Averitt. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John D. McDuffie; two sisters, Hetty Whaley and Lena Carter; five brothers, Cyrus McDonald, Morris McDonald, Dennis McDonald, James McDonald and Tom McDonald. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 17 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Butler and husband, Robie of Eastover; son, David McDuffie and wife, Karen of Oak Island; sister Elmaze Weeks of Eastover; brother, Lacy McDonald of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Wayne Mosley and wife Amanda of Stedman, Beth Semmes of Eastover and Melissa McDuffie Johns of Wilmington; great grandchildren, Gage and Cohen Mosley of Stedman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Vander Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 3509 Clinton Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28312.
