Betty “Jackie” Jacqueline Starling, 73 passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2024 Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Rev. Wayne Tate.  Burial will follow at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Wade.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.

An avid lover of God and family, she was adored by everyone who knew her.  It didn't matter if she had known someone for twenty minutes or twenty years, she treated everybody like family and was a warm ray of sunshine to all who knew her.  In addition to her beautiful spirit, she loved music and was a member of the choir at Manna Church, where she attended since its conception.  Jackie was also a successful career teacher, earning accolades in several North Carolina counties until her retirement.  She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her, but we can rejoice knowing that she is in the arms of our Lord and Savior!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence “Dick” Starling, Jr. and Betty Loraine (Blake) Starling.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her older brother, Bob Starling & wife, Judy of Huntsville, AL; her younger sister, Gail Howell and husband, David of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; younger brother, Rick Starling and wife, Rebecca of Stedman; as well as many nephews and nieces that adored her tremendously.
