CLINTON
Mrs. Betty Ann Fisher Strickland, 70 of 1866 Rabbit Street, Clinton, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. W.H. Calcutt and Rev. Bryan Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Strickland was born on March 24, 1944 in Harnett County to the late William Bernice and Sadie Louise Hall Fisher. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and she retired from Swift Denim in Erwin.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Charles Nixon Strickland of the home; six children, James Robert "Bobby" Hartley, Jr. and wife Kim of Clinton, Donnie Wayne Hartley and wife Terrie of Coats, Christopher Dale Hartley and wife Michelle of Dunn, Stephanie Renee Strickland and Sherry Stone of Clinton, Joy Strickland Crumpler and husband Nelson of Salemburg, Wade Nixon "Nicky" Strickland of Clinton; ten grandchildren, James Robert Hartley, III and wife Sandy of Dunn, Jonathan Lucas Hartley and wife Lindsey of Dunn, Rev. Bryan Nixon Strickland and wife Brooke of Salemburg, Victoria Norris and husband Charlie of Benson, Anthony Herrington and wife Brittney of Dunn, Zachary Parker and wife Melissa of Coats, Ashley Herrington of Dunn, Brent Stone of Clinton, Haley Stone of Clinton, Cristian Stone of Clinton; six great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Earl Fisher and wife Carol of Durham; friend, Betty Jean Hartley of Clinton; and her loving dog, Tiny.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at the home.
