Mrs. Betty Merle (Cashwell) Spell, 80 passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Autryville Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Kingdom Hall-Jehovah’s Witnesses in Clinton.

Betty was born in Sampson County to Brafford and Ethel Cashwell  on November 7, 1942. She grew up with her two brothers on the family farm. She married Earl Delano Spell her husband of 62 years. She was a good mother to her two sons, Ronald and Keith.

Betty worked at Jake Spell Furniture, Cashwell Appliance Parts, and Walmart.

Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Delano Spell, and brother, Jimmy Cashwell and his wife, Judy.

Betty is survived by her sons, Ronald Lee Spell and wife, Rose, and Garner Keith Spell and wife, Wendy all of Autryville. She is survived by her grandchildren, Bradford Lee Spell and wife, Brittany, Morgan Spell, Miranda Spell and Jordan Ilund-Thompson.

Also surviving Is her brother, JC Cashwell and wife, Margaret of Autryville, Aunt Bonnie Hodges of Dunn, Uncle Robert Cashwell, nieces Rhonda Faircloth, Susan Renegar, Jason Cashwell, Emily Cashwell, and beloved cousins, Kenneth Chase, Bonita Richie and Katherine Cashwell Naylor.
