Betty (Straughn) Cain

Roseboro

Mrs. Betty Straughn Cain, 90 of Roseboro went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Terra Bella Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the Roseboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. Cain was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Evander and BeTTie Quinn Straughn.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Neil Cain, Sr.  She worked at the Brewer Starling Clinic for 27 years and then worked for Tew’s Fashions in Salemburg.

She is survived by a son, Neil Cain and wife, Rosemary of Sunset Beach; a daughter, Elizabeth Lynn Cain Hines of Creedmoor; three grandchildren, Justin Quinn Hines, Kramer Creech Hines and LeAnn Cain; one brother, Perry (Dick) Straughan and wife, Ava of Jacksonville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Roseboro Methodist Church, P. O. Box 8, Roseboro, NC  28382.
