Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Allen, 96

Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Allen, 96, of Campbellton Health Care Center, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 23, 2009.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, Stedman, with Bishop Warren Barfield officiating. Burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Allen was born in Cumberland County on October 1, 1912 the daughter of Elias Hobson and Eliza Hair Hobson. She was also predeceased by her husband, William Anderson Allen; a son, Leonard D. Allen and a grandson, Thomas D.Brown. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.

Mrs. Allen is survived by three daughters, Lois Allen Brown and husband Thomas of Roanoke Rapids; Judy Allen Jackson and husband Clete of Rock Hill, SC; Carolyn Allen Hinson and husband, J.R. of Fuquay Varina; a son, Elton Allen and wife, Lila of Roseboro; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Allen of Fayetteville; a special friend, William "Bill" Hall of Fayetteville; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, Stedman.
