Mrs. Bernice Mclamb Owen, 91

ROSEBORO Mrs. Bernice McLamb Owen, 91 of 644 Hobbs Road, Roseboro, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Wake Medical Center after a brief sickness. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 20 at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, with Pastor Jim Owen and Reverend Andy Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Roseboro Cemetery. Mrs. Owen was the youngest child of William Ozzie and Arcenia Naylor McLamb of Ingold. She was the loving widow of Charles R. Owen. She worked 35 years at Jay’s Jewelers and after the death of her husband, she worked at Tew’s Fashions in Salemburg. She was a longtime member of Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church, formerly of Roseboro. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Herman, W.I. “Irving”, Floyd, and W.O.; and three sisters, Lorell McLamb, Lellon Fawcett, and Lois Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Faron Boyer of Roseboro; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends; and her fur babies, Roscoe, Oscar, and Buffy. The visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 19 at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, and other times at the home of Bonnie Boyer, 610 Hobbs Road, Roseboro. Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675; or the Sampson County Animal Shelter, 168 Agriculture Place, Clinton, NC 28328.
