Mrs. Bernice S. Overton, 66

FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Bernice Stanton Overton, 66 of 2327 Grant Avenue, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 12 Noon at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg. Mrs. Overton was born in 1941 in Vance County to the late Henry and Maude Hobgood Stanton. She is preceded in death by:  one son, Graham Overton; and one daughter, Denise Overton.  She was a homemaker. Mrs. Overton is survived by:  her husband, George Overton, of the home; one son, Keith Overton and wife Donna, of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Peggy Stanton, of Henderson, and Carolyn Parham, of Wellington, FL; and one granddaughter, Taylor Overton. Family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, in Stedman, and other times at the home.
