Bennie Ray Packer, 74 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Oak Forest Health and Rehab Center in Winston Salem.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2022 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman.  Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home before the service.

Bennie was born in Cumberland County to the late Ben Packer and Agnes Pearl (Russ) Packer.  In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Christine Packer; brothers, Norman and Howard Packer; sisters, Grace and Myrtle; and his former wife, Darlene Usry.

Bennie worked in the HVAC business, working for Daniel’s Construction and J J Barnes.  He was also co-founder of Fayetteville Heating and Air and All American Heating and Air Companies.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Kenneth Ray Packer & wife, Sandy; 2 grandchildren, Korissa Packer Payne & husband, Tyler and Kelsie Rae Packer; great grandson, Maddox Payne; 2 sisters, Wilma Yarborough and Barbara Royal; step-daughter, Kimberly Hobbs & husband, Shane; significant other, Angela Packer and her son, Jeremy Mintz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
