Mrs. Becky Holmes Johnson, 74

ROSEBORO Mrs. Becky Holmes Johnson, 74 of Roseboro, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam Edison Holmes and Bessie Myers Holmes; husband, Leonard Lee Johnson; and sister, Edna Evans. Mrs. Johnson was the bookkeeper with Cannady Well's Drilling Company for over 17 years and was a telephone operator with Walmart for over 17 years. She was also a life long member of Harmony Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Harmony Baptist Church in Clinton with Rev. Danny Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Mintz Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by niece, Ann Tyndall and husband, Allen Dale Tyndall of Roseboro; nephew, Eddie Evans and wife, Teresa of Clinton; sister in laws, Treva Johnson, Betty Ruth Page both of Roseboro; brother in law, Graham Godwin of Clinton; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, September 1, at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Harmony Baptist Church in Clinton with Rev. Danny Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Mintz Baptist Church Cemetery.
