Mrs. Barbara Jean Desentz-Bandy, 70, of Autryville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Bishop Warren Barfield and Reverend Larry Autry officiating. The burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:50 PM on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro prior to the service.

Mrs. Barbara was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Charles Bandy, Sr. and Dorothy Hannah Bandy. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Dottie Marie Bandy.

She is survived by two sons, Chris Desentz and wife Christian of Mt. Olive, Paul Desentz of Port St. Lucie, FL; a daughter, Kristin Thames and husband Charles of Autryville; nine grandchildren, Michael Thames, Rose Desentz, Brittany Desentz, Jesse Desentz, Landon Thames, Paige Desentz, Zachary Desentz, Brody White, and Alivia Thames; two sisters, Brenda Bradley, and Debbie Gammon; and two brothers, Charles Bandy, Jr., and Bobby Bandy.
