Autum Jessup Hall, 58, passed away on August 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Concord Baptist Church in Autryville, officiating will be Pastor Charles Holland and Pastor James Bullard.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 3:50 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service.

Born July 28, 1968, in Clinton, North Carolina, she grew up in Stedman and later planted roots in Autryville, where she built a life centered on faith, family, creativity, and caring for others.Autum was a nurturer in every sense of the word. She cared for others through her work as a nurse, loved her family fiercely as a wife, mother, and “Nana,” tended her plants, and cared for many beloved pets throughout her life. She had a gift for making things grow, making things beautiful, and making people feel cared for.She was remarkably creative and could seemingly make anything she set her mind to—whether sewing, decorating her home, building something, or dreaming up her next project. Her talent led to some wonderful accomplishments: she was invited to design a sewing pattern for Simplicity Patterns, created a popular blog followed by people around the world, and had her sewing work featured on the cover of a book. Yet for all she accomplished, Autum remained incredibly humble. If asked, she would undoubtedly have said her greatest work was the family she loved.Family gatherings were among her greatest joys. She treasured Sunday lunches at her Granny’s, later continued at Aunt Mary and Uncle Keith’s, and Christmas Eve gatherings at Grandma and Pa’s. She loved the simple gift of having the people she loved gathered together.  Autum’s Christian faith was a constant throughout her life. Concord Baptist Church was her lifelong church home, where she loved her church family and taught Sunday School for many years. Her faith carried her through a life that required extraordinary strength. Autum endured two double-lung transplants, a kidney transplant, and lung cancer. She faced each battle much the way she lived her life—with faith, humility, and quiet bravery. She never sought recognition for her strength and never allowed the hardships she endured to define her. She simply kept going and kept loving. 

Autum is survived by her husband, Perry Mitchell Hall; her daughter, Alyssa George, and son-in-law, Edwin George; her grandchildren, Bayleigh, Sawyer, Micah, Eli, Serena, and Axel; her great-granddaughter, Kasey Alice; her sister, Erica Wheeler; her father-in-law, Perry Hall; and many extended family members, friends, and members of her beloved church family.She was preceded in death by her son, Casey Hall; her mother, Theresa Cassity; and her mother-in-law, Doris Hall.

Autum leaves behind countless beautiful things created by her hands, but her greatest legacy is found in the lives she touched and the family she loved so completely. She was a nurse and a nurturer, a gifted creator, a devoted wife, a loving mother and Nana, a woman of deep faith, and one of the kindest and most humble souls one could ever know.  She fought with quiet bravery, loved without reservation, and made the world around her more beautiful simply by being in it.
