FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Ardith Lee Smith Burns, 68 of 420 Apple Tree Lane, Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Shook and Mr. Steven Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Burns was born on January 29, 1946 in Cumberland County to the late Ronnie Stevens and Alene Esba Horne Smith. She is survived by: her companion of 27-1/2 years, Bobby Cox; daughter, Tonya Lynette Teague of Fayetteville; step daughter, Michelle Kinlaw and husband, Raymond of Elizabethtown; step son, Terry Lynn Cox of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law, Buffy Cox of St. Pauls; brother, Douglas Smith and wife, Gloria of Garland; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W.
