Annette Murphy

The passing of Annette Sabrina Murphy on March 13th, 2021, due to cancer was a significant loss for everyone, particularly because she was a true warrior for life. 

Annette was born on November 9th, 1965, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, at Cape Fear Hospital, and was preceded in death by her mother, Betty JoAnn Murphy. Annette's journey began when she attended Christian Academy, graduated from EE Smith High School in 1983, and pursued studies in Internal Medicine at Duke University from 1984 to 1986 before leaving her education to care for her ailing mother. Annette often balanced three jobs to support herself, working as a Registered Medical Technician at Urgent Care on Ramsey St, at RHIPA on Skibo Rd, as a daycare provider at various locations, and in concessions sales at the Crown Coliseum, all while volunteering at several local animal shelters due to her passion for animals. Those in the local community who had the honor of knowing Annette were often moved by her compassionate and dedicated spirit that she displayed in her daily life. She regularly volunteered to feed the homeless and provided support for displaced women and children. 

Friends who gathered for her memorial on March 19th, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home to celebrate a cherished friend moving on to her next chapter included Kim Harrell, Wanda Williams, Daryl Roddy, Kim Richardson, Damon Arington, Christy Goddars, Julie Chenault, Kim Odem, Theresa Christen, Kenya Uba, Dr. Daniel Uba, Brenda and Larry Cummings, Allison Dickson, Alex Secord, James and Jamesha Secord. Annette’s remains were laid to rest at Fisher Cemetery in Stedman, North Carolina, where everyone is welcome to visit her final resting place. You are deeply missed,
