Ms. Annette Hall, 80 passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Oats Hall and Annie Laurie Hall; brother, William (Bill) Hall; sister-in-law, Adrianna Hall; and a great niece, Morgan Moncrief.
She is survived by her sister, Brenda Moncrief (Tom); two nieces, Susan Markham (Matt), Kathryn Hall; four nephews, Jonathan Hall (Tracey), Michael Hall (Katie), Monty Moncrief (Malia), and Kevin Moncrief (Abby); and sister-in-law, Frances. Hall. She is also survived by six great nieces and six great nephews.
Annette was born in Norfolk, VA and graduated from Granby High School. She earned her RN degree from Winston Salem Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She completed her BSN at Medical College of Virginia (now VCU) and began teaching students at Johnston Willis Hospital School of Nursing. While teaching, she became more aware of God calling her into missions. She completed the requirements to become a missionary with the Foreign Mission Board (now International Mission Board) and received her seminary credits from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She then went to Gaza as a summer missionary. Annette went on to earn her MSN at Emory University. She was appointed a missionary to Jordan in October of 1973 to teach nursing. She later transferred to Gaza where she became director of the School of Allied Health Sciences. Annette was reassigned to France in December, 1990; where she worked with Muslim women and teenage girls sharing Bible stories with them. After retiring in 2012, Annette became a volunteer for the Scripture and Orality Global Advance Team teaching and translating Bible stories. She never stopped sharing her faith and working to spread the Gospel throughout the world. Annette loved her family, friends, church, traveling, reading, and most of all her Lord Jesus Christ.
A celebration of Annette's life will take place at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 31, 2024 at First Baptist Church Richmond, 2709 Monument Avenue, Richmond, VA. Interment will be September 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Autryville Baptist Church Cemetery, Autryville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering to the International Mission Board, 3806 Monument Avenue, Richmond, VA 23230.
