Mrs. Anna Jean Bass, 89, of Fayetteville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. She was born in Sampson County on January 31st, 1935 to the late Edwin T. and Fraulein N. Lamb. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Milton Bass, Sr. and three siblings, Edna Lou Aldrich, Earl Lamb, and Bobby Lamb. Anna Jean graduated from Pineland College with a degree in business. Milton and Anna Jean owned and operated M&U Sporting Goods and Jambbas Ranch. She was an active member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Through the ups and downs of life, her love for the Lord and faith in Him never wavered. She is survived by her five children, Sabrina Gibson and husband Marvin of Fincastle Virginia, Becky Connor and husband David of Granite Falls, Anita Vestal and husband Mark of High Point, and Beth Brock and husband Craig, James Milton Bass II and wife Sandy, all of Fayetteville, sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandma, and friend to all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 4170 Tabor Church Road, Fayetteville NC, 28312. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 18th, 2024, at Cedar Creek Baptist Cemetery with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating.
