Fayetteville
Andrew Clay West, 41, of Fayetteville, formerly of Roseboro and Wilmington, died on March 24, 2022. He was the beloved son of Thomas and Lynn West of Roseboro and the loving and proud father of Irie and Willow.
Andrew was a 1999 graduate of Lakewood High School. He worked as a skilled carpenter and helped to build and remodel many of the lovely homes in Wilmington. Andrew was a champion of the weak and downtrodden. No matter how little he had, he would give it generously when he met someone with less. He was an avid fisherman who reeled in one whopper after another as his fellow anglers cursed his luck and returned home empty-handed.
Andrew had a true joy for living. Although life could be challenging, he viewed it with humor and optimism. When he entered a room with his big grin and boisterous laugh, everyone’s spirits were lifted. For those who knew and loved him, the world is dimmer now that he is no longer in it.
In addition to his parents, Andrew leaves behind his precious daughters, Irie Skye West at Bentley University in Waltham, MA and Willow Railynn West of Roseboro and his brothers, Matthew Latham West and children, Colson and Arden, of Burlington and Patrick Powell West and wife, Katherine Vann West, of Roseboro.
The family welcomes friends to visit at the West home in Roseboro.
