Mr. Andrew Marion McMillan, Jr., 88 of 3825 South River School Road, Wade, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015.

He was born October 17, 1926 to Andrew Marion McMillan Sr. and Lola Royal McMillan. He graduated from Stedman High School in June 1944 and entered the U.S. Navy seeing action in the South Pacific during WWII aboard the USS Landsdowne DD486, which included landing on Okinawa and the surrender of Japan in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945.

He was a life insurance salesman for Southland Life Insurance Co. for 30 years. His friends called him "Mac" and he shared his knowledge of automobile repair with many friends and family. Mac was the supreme tinkerer and there was nothing he couldn't fix.

Mac is preceded in death by his second wife, Maude Louise Davis McMillan; his brother, Calvin Wingate McMillan; and his parents. He is survived by his first wife, Elizabeth Cox also the mother of his four children. Surviving siblings include Carra Margaret Smith, James Fletcher McMillan (Terry), and Gary Franklin McMillan (Kathy). Surviving children include Jeffery Neil McMilland (Melba), Quo Vadis McMillan (Arlene), Andrea McMillan Pearson (Barry) and Hannah Elizabeth McMillan. Mac was blessed with two granddaughters and four grandsons, Alix Pearson Crittenden (Sam), Jessie Pearson Meyers (Chris), Andrew Neil McMillan, Iain Quincy McMillan, Conner Seth McMillan and Nathaniel Evander McMillan.

Memorial service will be held Friday, August 21 at 7:00 pm followed by a visitation with family and friends at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
